TAXILA: A man allegedly slaughtered his sister, brother-in-law and a sister-in-law in in Mohallah Mashraqiabad area in the limits of Taxila Police station on Thursday.

According to police officials, the man attacked the victims, slitting their throats and killing them on the spot before fleeing. The deceased were identified as 40-year-old Shehla, her 26-year-old son Danish Ikram, and wife of Danish identified as Summia Gull, 23. Preliminary investigations revealed that the 23-year-old woman belonging to an Afghan family had contracted a marriage against the will of her family, which angered her brother.

Following the incident, the accused managed to escape, and police have launched a hunt for him. Forensic teams led by SSP investigation Nasir Ali Khan visited the crime scene and collected evidence, while further investigations are underway.

Meanwhile, the inspector general of police Punjab has taken notice of the incident and sought a detailed report from the regional police officer (RPO) Rawalpindi.
