The US embassy in Muscat has lifted the shelter-in-place order across Oman, except for the region of Musandam and the surrounding area.
“If in Musandam, to the extent possible, remain in your residence, hotel, or another structure, and stay away from windows,” the US State Department has said in an advisory.
US embassy employees have been prohibited from travelling to Masirah Island or Musandam due to possible travel disruptions, and have been barred from travelling more than 25 kilometres offshore due to potential naval activity.
