British budget airline easyJet warned of a bigger first-half loss due to an Iran war-provoked fuel price surge and higher legal provisions, while forward bookings were also lagging due to the conflict, Reuters reports.

The US-Israeli war with Iran has sent jet fuel prices soaring as much as $200 a barrel in recent weeks, upending the global aviation industry and forcing airlines to raise fares, curb growth plans and rethink forecasts.

It reported a loss of 394 million pounds a year earlier.
