US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has said that fuel prices in America are dependent on negotiations with Iran.
“President Trump said this morning that he thinks we’re nearing the end [of the war],” Bessent has said at a White House press briefing. “The US kept their side of the ceasefire, we have stopped firing, the Straits of Hormuz have not been completely reopened.”
He expresses optimism that American citizens will pay $3 for a gallon of gasoline by summer, adding that crude oil prices have come down “substantially” in the past 10 days.
