An Iranian delegation, led by Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam, has visited Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman at his residence in Islamabad, according to a statement by the JUI-F.

The statement said Fazl told the delegation that he hoped for a ceasefire and lasting peace, as well as the establishment of a Muslim bloc.

It added that the US-Israeli war on Iran and its implications were discussed in detail during the meeting, and the Iranian envoy expressed gratitude to Fazl on behalf of the Iranian nation for “your strong stance” on the war.

For his part, Fazl told the Iranian delegation that hosting US-Iran talks was an honour for Pakistan, the statement said. It further quoted him as saying, “Rulers of the Muslim world must learn that we will always be used without unity and will not be in control of our resources.”

He stressed that the sovereignty of Muslim countries should be respected and highlighted the Palestine issue, calling for the country’s freedom.

The statement said the Iranian envoy agreed with Maulana on the matter of Palestine, further thanking the Pakistani nation, including Fazl and his party, for their stance on “American aggression”.
