LAHORE, June 28: An 11-member Pakistan weightlifting team left for Iran on Wednesday for a month long training programme for participation in the 10th South Asian Games to be held in Sri Lanka in August.
Shuja-ud-Din, the gold medallist in the Commonwealth Games-2006 is leading the team.
The other members are Usman Akbar, Ishtiaq Ghafoor, Matiur Rehman, Mohammad Irfan, Hasan Aslam, Mohammad Ilyas, Sajid Amin Malik, Rizwanullah Khan, Alam Din Kakar and Awais Akbar.
Hafiz Imran Butt is accompanying the team as coach/manager.
