TOBA TEK SINGH: Three suspected robbers in the Crime Control Department (CCD) custody were killed, allegedly in the firing by their own accomplices, when they tried to free them at Khanewal, early on Tuesday.

As per the CCD, the suspects -- Ahmad Sargana, Asad Gill and Ansar Malkana – had been arrested following a robbery at a commission shop in Kot Islam grain market on Monday.

It said that the suspects were being taken to a place for recovery of some looted valuables, when their accomplices opened fire on the CCD team escorting them.

The CCD men returned fire, and following crossfire between the two sides, they found the three suspects lying dead on the spot.

The CCD claimed the suspects were killed in the firing by their fleeing accomplices, who attacked the police to free them.

SUSPECTS INJURED: At Faisalabad, two suspected dacoits were arrested in an injured condition by the Factory Area police late on Monday.

The police claimed that, acting on the information that four suspected dacoits were looting people on Jhang Road, a team reached the spot. On seeing the police, the suspects attempted to flee, but were chased by policemen.

Following crossfire between the two sides, the police found two of the suspects lying injured near Bagh Wali Pulli.

The police claimed they were injured in the firing by their own accomplices, who fled the scene. The injured suspects, identified as Zubair and Ali Asghar, were shifted to the Allied Hospital. The suspects were allegedly involved in 60 robberies, the police claimed.
