SHEIKHUPURA, June 27: The son of a former MPA was reportedly kidnapped and poisoned to death by his abductors on Tuesday. Police said that Yasir Dogar, son of ex-MPA Sardar Mehboob Dogar, was on way to his village Kakar Gill by his car.

His bodyguard told police that when their car crossed the Motorway overhead bridge on the Jandiala-Hafizabad Road, it was hit by another car from the rear. As a result it ran into a tree and came to a halt.

The outlaws, six in number and on board two cars, abducted Yasir and his guard. On the way they made Yasir take some drink. He soon fell unconscious and died.

The abductors threw his body near a graveyard on the Sharaqpur Road, 13km from here. They did not harm the guard and released him later.

The motive of the killing was not yet known. Sadr police said a probe had been launched.
