European Council President Antonio Costa has warned against attacks on civilian infrastructure, saying diplomacy — and not escalation — is the only way to achieve peace, Al Jazeera reports.
“Only negotiations will, namely, the ongoing efforts led by regional partners,” he has said in a social media post.
Costa also warned that the Iranian population would be the primary victims of any widening of the war.
