QUETTA, June 26: Security forces recovered a kidnapped officer and a constable of the Levies force after heavy exchange of fire near Nuskhi on Monday. One kidnapper was killed and another injured.

Sources said that a group of armed men on two pick-up vehicles attacked Galangoor levies checkpost at the RCD Highway, some 100 km to the west of here.

They injured two Levies men and kidnapped Haji Safar Khan Mengal and constable Mustafa Khan at gunpoint.

Personnel of the security forces rushed to the site and chased the kidnappers, who were intercepted at some distance. After a two-hour gun battle the kidnappers escaped leaving behind the kidnapped personnel.

One kidnapper Safar Khan Lango died and another was injured in the fire fight, the sources said.
