LAHORE: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Saturday announced a major relief package for motorbike owners aimed at reducing financial burden on the public.
Under the package, motorbike registration fee has been abolished while the transfer fee has been waived, along with the introduction of a monthly subsidy of Rs 2,000 for registered motorbike owners.
In a message posted on the social media platform X, the chief minister said that under the initiative registered motorbikes will also be eligible for a fuel subsidy of Rs 100 per litre on up to 20 litres of petrol per month, adding that the package has been launched with immediate effect with a transparent mechanism for facilitation of citizens.
The CM said that motorbike owners can apply for the subsidy through helpline 1000, the Maryam Ko Batayn mobile application available on the Play Store, or via the official web portal, while reiterating that the government is committed to providing relief to the common man and ensuring that meaningful support reaches every household.
