Loud explosions have been heard in Beirut, an AFP journalist says, as the Israeli military claims it has begun striking “Hezbollah infrastructure” in the Lebanese capital.
AFP’s correspondent in Beirut heard at least two explosions within half an hour and reported smoke billowing from one of them.
Local media reported two strikes on the southern suburbs.
