KARACHI, June 26: The Anti-Narcotics Force, Sindh (ANF) organised a walk on Monday to create awareness against drug abuse in the society. The walk in which more than 2,000 people including NGOs, government officials, former drug addicts, their families, children and doctors took part, started from the ANF’s regional directorate and ended at Boat Basin via Schon Circle.

It was jointly led by ANF Commander Brig Mohammad Farooq Shaukat and CCPO Karachi Niaz Ahmed Siddiqui.

During the walk, banners and posters inscribed with anti-drug messages were displayed and distributed among the participants.

They were chanting slogans against narcotics. The people appreciated the ANF’s efforts in creating awareness against drug abuse.

Walks against drug abuse were also held at Hyderabad, Sukkur, Khairpur and Gambat in response to the policy of UN Office on Drug Crime (UNODC), celebrated every year as an “International day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking” around the globe.—APP
