Iraq’s oil ministry has said it has begun the export of oil by means of tankers through Syria to “support the national economy”, Al Jazeera reports.
In a statement, the ministry said it was cooperating with the Syrian government to “ensure its safe passage to export outlets”, adding that export operations would scale up progressively to increase volumes in support of Iraq’s economy.
