Al Jazeera’s Ali Hashem reports that amid strikes throughout the day, Iran is denying that it is approaching the US president or requesting a ceasefire.

“In fact, what the Iranians have been saying over the past weeks is that they are not seeking a ceasefire; they’re looking for a comprehensive peace that ends this war,” Hashem adds. “Here in Tehran, we had several air strikes, including two in the past few hours, to the east of Tehran.”

He reports that throughout the day, there have been attacks in different areas around the country, as well as overnight attacks in the Iranian capital.

“In the morning, there was an attack that was actually a bit significant around the former US embassy in Tehran,” Hashem says. “So a lot of targeting is going on inside Tehran, outside Tehran in the regions, and this is all part of what’s been a relentless campaign of strikes.”
