HYDERABAD, June 24: Unidentified armed men committed a robbery in the house of Aziz Malik, Dawn’s bureau chief in Hyderabad, on Thursday night.

The robbery took place when the journalist’s elder daughter, Mrs Tasneem Malik, along with her husband, Minhaj-ur-Rab, an employee in the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company, were returning to the flat in Fahad plaza after taking medicines and ice-cream for their child in Saddar area. As soon as they reached the flat, a man whipped out his weapon and pushed Minhaj inside the flat.

His accomplice, carrying a cell phone, also joined him.

They robbed gold bangles, one cell phone and cash from the wallet of Minhaj.

They also tried to deprive another daughter of the journalist, Mrs Tahseen Malik, of her ornaments but did not succeed.
