KOHAT, June 24: A factory owner and another person have been kidnapped from Kohat and Darra Adam Khel, police on Saturday said.

Qaleemur Rehman Paracha, owner of a factory and a timber merchant, was kidnapped from a bazaar by some people on the pretext to show him a commercial plot on Friday morning. In the evening, his family received a call from his cellphone that he had been kidnapped and they should wait for further instructions for payment of ransom. He requested his uncle not to inform the police because the kidnappers had threatened to kill him if police help was sought.

The mother of the victim lodged a case with police.

Police interrogated many people near the shop in the cantonment area from where Qaleemur Rehman had been kidnapped.

Saifur Rehman, whose van was hired by some people in Dera Ismail Khan for Peshawar, went missing in Darra Adam Khel while returning back.

The Gumbat police have registered a case on a complaint of Aurangzeb. Meanwhile, Waseem Haider of Sherkot is missing for one week. His family informed police late, hoping that he might return.
