KARACHI: Marvi Khursheed Malik, daughter of senior Pakistan Peoples Party leader Senator Sherry Rehman, passed away in Karachi on Sunday. She was 35.

She had been under treatment at a private hospital for the last few days.

The funeral prayers will be held on Monday (today) at 3:30pm in DHA Phase 8.

Marvi’s demise drew an outpouring of grief and condolences from across the political spectrum, with senior leaders expressing solidarity with the bereaved family.

President Asif Ali Zardari conveyed his deep sorrow over the loss, praying for the departed soul’s forgiveness and elevation in ranks, and for patience for the grieving family.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari also expressed heartfelt condolences, offering sympathies to Ms Rehman and her family.

Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Governor Nehal Hashmi, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, leadership of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan and many others expressed profound grief over the passing of Marvi Malik, terming it a deeply painful loss.
