RAWALPINDI: The Federal Investigation Agency’s Anti-Corruption Circle Islamabad conducted an operation in Rawalpindi to recover the abandoned Evacuee Trust Property Board properties and government assets from illegal occupants.

A spokesman for the FIA said that following the instructions of Federal Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi and Director General Federal Investigation Agency Dr Usman Anwar, a campaign to recover government properties and assets from illegal occupants has been launched across the country.

In this regard, a team was formed on the special instructions of Director FIA Islamabad Zone Shahzad Nadeem Bukhari and Deputy Director Mir Faizanul Haq, led by Assistant Director FIA Shahid Ilyas and SHO Anti-Corruption Circle Shahzad Sarwar Khakwani to recover the abandoned Evacuee Trust Board Property in the Tyre Bazaar area under the limits of Ganj Mandi Police Station from illegal occupants and handed it over to the concerned authorities.

In order to avoid any untoward incident, a large number of FIA and local police personnel were present at the spot.

All illegal shops and properties were sealed and handed over to the relevant authorities on the spot.

The public welcomed the campaign to reclaim government land and properties from illegal occupants and expressed hope that such illegal elements will continue to be discouraged and the rule of law will be established at all costs.
