Army maintain top position

LAHORE, June 23: Army maintained top position in the 47th National swimming championship at the Model Town Club pool on Friday.

Army, which grabbed six gold medals on the first day, added as many on the second day.

Wapda grabbed their first gold medal of the championship when Abdul Aziz won 100m breaststroke.

Results:

1500m freestyle: 1. Mehboob Ali, 2. Liaquat Ali, 3. Shahbaz Khan.

200m individual medley: 1. Nisar Ahmed, 2. Sikandar Khan, 3. Mohammad Mansoor.

100m breaststroke: 1. Abdul Aziz, 2. Nasir Mehmood, 3. Zuhry Khan.

100m backstroke: 1. Faiz Mohammad, 2. Imdad Ali, 3. Atif Khawaja.

4x100m freestyle relay: 1. Army (Adil Baig, Mehboob Ali, Firdous, Nisar Ahmed), 2. Wapda (Shahbaz, Sikandar, Usman, Faiz), 3. Navy (M. Zahid, Ali Gul, Mohammad Afzal, A. Rehman).

100m butterfly: 1. Nasir Ali, 2. Ali Gul, 3. Mohammad Altaf.

100m freestyle: 1. Adil Beg, 2. Sikander Khan, 3. Mehboob Ali.
