HYDERABAD, June 22: The Hyderabad circuit bench of the Sindh High Court on Thursday suspended proceedings by police officials against a villager, Anwar Ali Dahri.

The court also issued notices to respondent police officials and the additional-advocate general of Sindh to appear in the court on July 18.

The petitioner told the court that he had moved an application under section 22-A CrPC on February 7, 2005 before the sessions judge Nawabshah against Daur TPO Mazhar Hisbani and 12 other policemen and private personnel for registration of an FIR.

The court directed the SHO of the Bandhi police station to register the FIR and submit compliance report.

Then he approached the SHO concerned with a copy of the order but he did not register the FIR and he approached the sessions judge Nawabshah against the order.

The court suspended its earlier order through a fresh order dated February 10, 2005 and he had to file a constitutional petition before the high court which was disposed of with directives to the sessions judge to expedite proceedings in criminal miscellaneous applicant filed by application against TPO Mazhar Hussain and others and submit report within three months.

In compliance of the order, Nawabshah’s sessions judge appointed the civil judge and judicial magistrate-I as inquiry officer who after recording evidence of parties submitted the report on March 21, fully supporting version of the petitioner.

The petitioner said that in his report the judicial magistrate stated that TPO Mazhar Hussain and the applicant were involved in a dispute.

As a result, the petitioner was implicated in false criminal cases and that although record of criminal cases was produced against the applicant but he was not convicted in any single case.
