NUREMBERG, June 21: US captain Claudio Reyna said on Wednesday that World Cup Group E was perfectly matched but it would be the Americans' turn to get a win when they met Ghana in their final match on Thursday.

“The group has been turned upside down for all four teams,”

Reyna told reporters on Wednesday on the eve of the showdown with the West Africans.

“We're all very evenly matched,” he said. “We played well against Italy (1-1) but Ghana lost to them (2-0) and played well against the Czechs (won 2-0). Every other team has gotten its win and we feel that it's our turn.”

Group E still remains to be decided. Italy lead on four points, the Czechs and Ghana are second on three while the US have one.

Faced with a must-win situation, the US team will make changes due to the suspensions of defender Eddie Pope and midfielder Pablo Mastroeni, but Reyna said the team must not be over-anxious.

“Similar to the Italy game, we have to be careful in our approach and not try to win the game in the first 10 minutes,” said Reyna.—Reuters
