HYDERABAD, June 21: Leader of opposition in Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has said that Benazir Bhutto is waging struggle not only for the rights of the oppressed population of Pakistan, but also for the deprived people of the world.

He claimed that Benazir Bhutto was the only leader who could restore democracy, and supremacy of parliament and the constitution. He was speaking at a public meeting organized by local PPP leaders Aftab Ahmed Khanzada and Sikandar Hayat to mark the 53rd birth anniversary of party chairperson Benazir Bhutto here on Tuesday night.

Mr Khuhro also claimed that the charter of democracy had disturbed the rulers and vowed that the People’s Party would continue struggle till its logical conclusion.

He alleged that the government had destroyed the country and its people by disposing of its national assets.

The PPP leader reiterated that the people of Sindh would never accept the construction of Kalabagh dam and demanded that the NFC award should be announced on the basis of revenue generation of each province.

A 53-pound birthday cake was cut at 12 o’clock midnight to celebrate the birth anniversary of the party chairperson.
