Thousands of people have flocked to a central square in the Iranian capital to pledge allegiance to the Islamic republic’s new leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, AFP journalists say.
The crowds which gathered in Tehran’s Enghelab Square saw many carrying the Iranian flags and portraits of Mojtaba Khamenei.
