ATTOCK, June 19: Six persons, including two girls and two women of a family, were killed and two others injured when a speeding car overran them in a bus-stop near village Kotkay on Hazro-Lawrencepur road on Sunday evening.

Two out of the three occupants of the car including the driver also died on the spot.

Police said two women and three girls were waiting at the bus stop of village Kotkay, when the recklessly-driven car (LXX-717) knocked them down. The vehicle overturned after colliding with a pylon.

As a result, Najmun Nisa, wife of Nijabat Khan, her daughters Alishah, 7, and Mahnoor, 6, and her relative Mukhan Bibi, wife of Sadik, were killed on the spot while Neelum, 12, daughter of Najmun Nisa, sustained serious injuries.

The car driver Ali Rehman and his companion Fida Mohammad, residents of Mardan district, also died on the spot, while another occupant of the vehicle, Zulfiqar Ali, sustained serious injuries.

Police and local villagers shifted the injured and the dead bodies to the tehsil headquarters hospital, Hazro.
