Man gets RI, fine in rape case

SARGODHA: The additional district and sessions judge on Monday handed down 10-year rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs50,000 to a man in a rape case.

According to sources, two years ago a young man raped a girl in the Satellite Town area of Sargodha, after which the police registered a case under Section 376A of the Pakistan Penal Code. Following the medical report and completion of the investigation, the challan was submitted to the court.

The judge, while announcing the verdict, sentenced the accused, Owais, to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs50,000.
