RAWALPINDI: The Special Branch has conducted a security audit of international food chain outlets across the garrison city and recommended plugging loopholes to prevent any untoward incident amid the prevailing security situation.

According to sources, in view of the current security environment, Special Branch field staff carried out a security survey of two outlets of an international food chain located in the New Town police area. They found only one security guard deployed at the entrance of one outlet, while no security guard was present at the other outlet.

Considering the current security scenario and regional tensions, officials recommended enhanced security measures at both outlets, including an effective checking mechanism and increased vigilance, to avoid any incident.

Police have already been placed on high alert in the garrison city, with enhanced patrolling and deployment of security personnel around sensitive installations.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old girl was killed after being hit by a tractor on IJP Road in Rawalpindi on Monday. According to Rescue 1122, the girl died on the spot. Her body was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for a postmortem examination.
