RAWALPINDI: The Punjab government has put all the hospitals in the garrison city on high alert and asked the medical superintendents to make arrangements of medicines and ensure presence of staff round the clock.

According to the directives of the Punjab health department, the hospital administrations of Holy Family Hospital, Benazir Bhutto Hospital and Rawalpindi Teaching Hospital to ensure in all health facilities to effectively respond to any emergency or untoward situation.

It stated that all Emergency departments shall remain fully functional round the clock. Operation theatres along with Radiology Department shall be fully functional for 24/7. Shift-wise duty rosters of all staff shall be prepared and strictly implemented.

All arrangements for trauma and surgical emergencies shall be ensured. Availability of specialist doctors, especially physician, surgeon, orthopaedic surgeon as well as nurses, paramedics and allied staff shall be ensured.
