KHAIRPUR, June 19: A large number of people in Kumb town blocked the National Highway on Monday to protest against deteriorating law and order situation in the town. The protesters led by the nazim of union council Kumb, Mohammad Hassan Ujjan, raised slogans against police and pelted stones at the vehicles, which halted traffic for an hour.

The protesters said that the incidents of robberies and motorcycle-snatching by armed robbers had become order of the day and in the latest such incident robbers snatched away motorcycle from the naib nazim of UC Jhando Mashaikh on Sunday.

They also staged a demonstration outside the police post. Shopkeepers of Khuhra town also continued their protest on Monday, the third consecutive day against worsening law and order situation in their town.
