KARACHI, June 17: Bandits took away 33 cellphones, 20 four-wheelers and 10 motorbikes from various localities on Saturday. Police sources said 15 cellphones were snatched at gunpoint, most of them in Gulshan-i-Iqbal and Saddar. Eighteen other cellphones were reported stolen.

Similarly, police sources said that nine cars were taken away at gunpoint in different areas, whereas eleven other cars were stolen.

Four motorcycles were hijacked and six others stolen by the bandits.

Meanwhile, police arrested two men for their involvement in street crimes. A police party saw the two men riding on a motorcycle in the Sindhi Muslim Cooperative Housing Society and signalled them to stop. The suspects tried to flee but the police arrested them near the Roomi mosque.

They were identified as Akhtar Rizwan and Tahir. Police recovered five stolen cellphones, two TT pistols and a rented motorcycle from their custody.
