BANNU: As a result of successful negotiations and a jirga organised by Umarzai tribes, the abducted police officer Qadeerullah has been safely released and reached home.

Qadeerullah, who serves in the CPEC police in district Mansehra, was abducted a week ago from his residence in Dogar Umarzai by suspected militants.

During the abduction, the attackers also set ablaze three rooms of his house, causing household belongings to be completely destroyed.

According to local chairman Sufian Wazeer, following the incident, Umarzai tribes formed a jirga and launched serious efforts to ensure the safe recovery of the abducted official.

After successful negotiations, the abducted police official was released and has now safely reached his home.

MODERN AO SCREW FIXATION SURGERY: For the first time, a modern AO screw fixation surgery has been successfully performed at District Headquarters Hospital MTI Bannu.

Assistant Prof Nek Muhammad and his team carried out a successful surgical treatment of a neck of femur fracture using the modern AO screw fixation technique under fluoroscopic guidance. The surgery was completed in accordance with modern medical standards and established surgical protocols. With the assistance of fluoroscopy, accurate bone positioning and effective screw fixation were ensured.

This achievement marks a significant milestone in improving orthopedic services at the hospital and reflects the institution’s continued progress toward providing advanced medical facilities.

The introduction of such complex surgical procedures at the district headquarters hospital is a major positive development for the public. Patients will no longer need to travel to major cities for such operations, as these facilities are now available locally.
