KARACHI, Feb 8: Sindh Governor Mohammedmian Soomro on Friday said people of the province are wholeheartedly with the troops guarding frontiers of the motherland.

Addressing troops in the close proximity of borders during his visit to various darbars on forward locations, he said: “Pakistan is a peace loving country, believes in promotion of peace, and its troops formed vanguards of various peace-keeping missions around the globe.”

Our desire for peace should not be construed as a a weakness, he said.

Mr Soomro said the people of Pakistan reposed full confidence in their armed forces and that the valiant soldiers would come up to their expectations.

The governor was accompanied by Corps Commander, Lt-Gen Tariq Waseem Ghazi; Director-General of Rangers, Maj-Gen Shahid Tirmizi, and formation commanders. The DG Rangers briefed the governor on the role of the Rangers.

Mr Soomro announced a donation of one million rupees for the troops and Rs0.2 million for the Rangers.

He also met an multi-barrel rocket launcher detachment during the visit.—PPI
