KARACHI, June 17: Brisk shipping activity was witnessed at the port where four ships carrying containers, chemicals, and sugar were accommodated on berths at QICT, Engro Vopak, and MPT terminals, respectively, during the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, five more ships with containers, furnace oil and chemicals arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy was 100 per cent for the two consecutive days at the port. A total of 10 ships occupied berths to load/offload containers, edible oil, diesel, sugar, chemicals and iron ore, respectively.

A cargo volume of 68,658 tons comprising 59,597 tons of imports and 9,061 tons of exports, including 1,320 containers was handled during the same period.

As many as three vessels, namely a container ship, chemicals vessel and edible oil carrier sailed during the last 24 hours.
