GUJAR KHAN, June 16: The family of a man, who was killed on June 9, has said that the alleged killers are roaming freely in the locality whereas the police seem to be reluctant to arrest them. Jan Bibi, mother of the deceased, told reporters that on the day of the incident her son-in-law Khalid Mehmood along with three other persons entered her house and opened indiscriminate fire. As a result, her son Mohammad Afaq died on the spot while four other inmates including herself sustained injuries.

The woman said the police registered a case against the alleged killer, Khalid Mehmood, and his accomplices, but did not arrest them, though they were still present in the same area. Jan Bibi expressed the fear that the accused would once again attack her family and kill his wife.

She urged Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab to issue directives for the early arrest of the killers and provide protection to the victim’s family.
