HYDERABAD, June 16: A large number of activists of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz took out a procession from Hoshoo chowk to Seeratun Nabi chowk in Tando Mohammad Khan on Friday in protest against killing of Hakeem Notiar. Abdul Wahid Arisar and JSQM Tando Mohammad Khan district organiser Ibrahim Soomro led the protesters.

They condemned an inordinate delay in the arrest of murderers of JSQM leader Hakeem Notiar. They demanded that JSQM secretary general Dr Safdar Sarki should be released.

Traffic remained blocked for one hour on the Phulelli-station road. Mr Arisar said that the government was involved in the murder of Hakeem Notiar.

He criticised the police for its inefficiency and said that the murderers of Notiar were roaming about freely.

He said that lawlessness, unemployment and hunger had become the order of the day in Sindh and during the last five years, 8,000 people had committed suicide.

He said that an operation had been launched to crush the nationalist movement.
