TOBA TEK SINGH: An alleged robber was killed in an encounter with the Shorkot Circle Crime Control Department (CCD) team on Wednesday in Jhang.

Police claimed that the CCD team was present in Murali Wala Chowk on Dubkalan Road in Shorkot when three suspects on a motorcycle were signalled to stop. However, the police claimed that they opened fire on the policemen, which was also retaliated. Police said that after the guns went silent, they found one accused dead on the road, while his two accomplices had escaped.

He was identified as Muhammad Saeed alias Saeedi of Sheikhupura and he was wanted in more than two dozen robberies and encounters with the police in different districts. Police claimed that he died by the firing of his accomplices.

His body had been shifted to the Shorkot THQ hospital for autopsy.
