ISLAMABAD, June 15: The Higher Education Commission is discussing with the Chinese government the establishment of an engineering university in Pakistan.

A statement issued by the HEC on Thursday said wide-ranging collaborations with China in the fields of physics, chemistry, biology, geology and engineering was in the offing.

The HEC chairman, Dr Attaur Rehman, is holding meetings with Chinese counterparts during his current visit to China.

China would provide vice-chancellor, deans, top professors and a system of quality control of highest level for the proposed university. Beijing’s collaboration is also being sought in setting up of technology parks, technology incubators and entrepreneurship promotion centres.
