SWAT: A three-day snow festival, held in the scenic Kalam Valley, concluded on Monday, featuring a spectacular display of various snow sports and recreational activities that greatly entertained both domestic and international tourists.

According to the organisers, the primary objective of the event was to promote winter tourism in the region and showcase Kalam’s breathtaking beauty during the winter season.

Snow-covered mountains, pleasant weather, and a variety of sporting activities further highlighted Kalam as a prominent tourist destination. Malakand division commissioner Masood Ahmad attended the event as the chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, the commissioner appreciated the organisation of the festival and stated that such positive and constructive events played a vital role in promoting tourism and strengthening the local economy.

In the competitions, Akhtar Munir secured first position in the jeep rally, while Ijaz Khan secured second place and Hadi Stranger finished third. The snow kabaddi title was won by Azor Lagoon, whereas the tug-of-war competition was won by Kalam United team.

The Kalam snow festival once again proved that the valley remains an attractive and safe tourist destination in every season.
