LAHORE: The departure of Pakistan’s national hockey squad to Hobart, Australia for the second leg of the FIH Pro League was delayed on Monday after the team failed to get the visas.

The squad was scheduled to leave for Hobart on Monday night but till 6:00pm, the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) had not received online visas of the team and officials, a PHF official told Dawn on the condition of the anonymity.

According to the said official, the PHF and its Australian counterpart raised the matter before the Australian High Commissioner in Islamabad and as a result the visas could be delivered in the next couple of days.

The PHF is trying to book Feb 5 air tickets for the squad.
