FAISALABAD, June 14: Residents of Millat Road and its adjoining villages staged a demonstration and blocked traffic in protest against the imposition of toll on main roads of their area.

Carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the toll, protesters marched through various roads and demanded that the Punjab government should withdraw toll from three major roads in the district.

Owing to the road blockade, traffic leading to about 50 villages was disrupted for about a couple of hours.

Protesters announced the staging of a big demonstration in front of offices of the city district nazim during the next couple of days if the excise and taxation department auctioned these roads for the collection of toll.

PROPRIETARY RIGHTS: Dwellers of 26 various katchi abadis in the district have been asked by the Faisalabad Development Authority to contact the katchi abadis directorate for getting proprietary rights.
