LAKKI MARWAT, June 14: The local government department has reinstated 24 employees of Tehsil Municipal Administration, Lakki, after their appeals were accepted by the competent authority, it was learnt on Tuesday.

Former TMO Haji Sakhi Jan Khan Marwat had terminated the services of 30 workers of TMA Lakki after having learnt that most of the low paid employees, instead of performing their duties, were working as personal servants at the residences of local politicians.

The department had formed a three-member committee headed by acting Tehsil Nazim Shaukat Hayat Khan Begukhel to inquire into the matter and submit its report within two weeks.

In the light of the report furnished by the committee, secretary LCB ordered reinstatement of 24 employees with retrospective effect.

However, the competent authority turned down the appeal of six employees.
