Swiss visa scam: probe under way

ISLAMABAD, June 14: Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Khusro Bakhtiar on Wednesday said a thorough investigation is underway to establish the facts in women harassment case against Asher Francis, Assistant Visa Officer at the Swiss Embassy.

During question hour in the Senate, the Minister said FIA had already questioned both the parties and the result of the investigation awaited.

He told the House an FIR was registered against Asher Francis, a Pakistani national, who has been arrested and remanded. The accused continues to be in the custody of investigating agencies.

The Minister said the Swiss Ambassador, Deputy Head of Mission and Visa Counsellor were called to the Foreign Office several times to discuss the issue who agreed to cooperate in the FIA investigation. — APP
