GUJRAT: The rail traffic remained suspended between Lalamusa and Sargodha sections for 14 hours after the engine and five coaches of Karachi-bound Hazara Express derailed at Mona Railway Station near Malakwal town of Mandi Bahauddin district. No casualty was reported.
Reports said the Hazara Express derailed around 11pm on Thursday night.
The railway authorities sent a relief train carrying technicians from Lalamusa who took 14 hours to repair the track and bring the train back on the track.
During the suspension of rail traffic on the track, the Karachi to Hazara-bound Hazara Express and Sargodha to Lalamusa-bound Chenab express were stopped at Bhalwal railway station in Sargodha whereas the shuttle train service between Sargodha and Lalamusa was stopped at Malakwal railway station.
According to a local, the rail track between lalamusa to Faisalabad via Sargodha, has been in dilapidated condition for long and require complete overhaul.
