Financing for tent supplies

Published June 15, 2006

KARACHI, June 14: The State Bank has decided to treat local supplies of tents and tarpaulins to the federal or provincial relief commission for earthquake victims as ‘exports’ for the purpose to provide financing under the Export Finance Scheme (EFS).

The SBP issued a circular on Wednesday and advised all banks to take these supplies as ‘export receipts’ supported by the relevant invoices and delivery challans duly backed by the certificates issued by the federal or provincial relief commissioners.

However, this facility is one time and it will not be reported in the country’s export receipt list
