GUJRAT: A 10-year-old student was allegedly raped by his teacher at a religious seminary at Bhotta village in Kakrali police precincts.

Shahid Muneer, an employee of the district education department, lodged a complaint with the police on Jan 18, 2026 that his 10-year-old son ‘K’ had been learning the Holy Quran by heart at a religious seminary, Madressah Usmania Taleemul Quran, at Bhotta village.

He said that last Sunday, when his son returned home from the seminary, he seemed disturbed and started crying.

Upon being repeatedly asked by the parents, the boy narrated his ordeal saying that his teacher ‘S’, a resident of Mamdana village of Phalia Tehsil of Mandi Bahauddin district, took him to his personal room and raped him.

The police registered a case against the suspect under section 376-iii of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPP) on the report of the complainant.

A spokesman for Gujrat police says that the suspect has been arrested and further investigation was underway.
