LAHORE: Regional Parks & Horticulture Authorities (PHAs) operating under the Punjab Horticulture Authority (PHA) will extend the “Adopt-a-Park” scheme — earlier launched in Lahore — to other cities across the province.

This was shared by PHA Director General Raja Mansoor Ahmad during a zoom meeting of regional managing directors at his office.

He said Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz had placed special emphasis on the horticultural beautification of cities.

In this regard, he directed horticulture agencies to focus on the upkeep and beautification of parks, gardens and green belts, and to ensure the timely availability of required materials for the upcoming floral plantation season.

The DG further instructed all regional agencies to promptly communicate their requirements regarding staff, machinery and financial resources to the parent body, which would then present a consolidated proposal to the provincial government.

He also directed that details of Beldars working in various government departments be obtained and necessary steps taken to secure their services for regional horticulture agencies.

Earlier, the MD briefed the meeting on available resources and challenges faced by their respective agencies.
