LAHORE, June 11: The second phase of the national cricket training camp starts at the Qadhafi Stadium from Monday for the forthcoming tour of England.

The national selectors, headed by Wasim Bari, had already announced a 16-member team for the tour, which begins from June 25.

Bob Woolmer (coach), Waqar Younis (bowling coach), Zaheer Abbas (manager), Daryl Lifson (physio), Murray Stevenson (trainer) and Asad Mustafa (manager logistics) are among the team management.

On top of it, Jonty Rhodes, the South African fielding legend, arrived here on Saturday for a brief two-week assignment.

He will initially work with the England-bound senior squad before spending time with Pakistan ‘A’ team which leaves for Australia next month.

Zaheer, a former Test captain, was appointed manager for the England tour while Asad, a PCB official, was given an additional job.

The other three — Woolmer, Lifson and Stevenson — are with the Pakistan team on a three-year term leading up to World Cup next year.

In addition, another National Cricket Academy's trainer Grant Compton could also be available to assist the team management.

Waqar was hired for a year from this March and will remain with the team till the World Cup.

The two-hour morning session will start from 8.00am.
