SAHIWAL, June 11: The heat wave claimed lives of four people here on Sunday.
Reports said that Nasreen (40), Ghulam Sarwer (50) of Grain Market, Ahmed Ali (55) of Chak 86/6-R and Maqsood Ali (45) of Kassowal were brought to the DHQ Hospital in a state of unconscious. However, they could not survive. Fresh casualties occurred as temperature soared to 44 degree Celsius.
POs ARRESTED: Farid Town police on Saturday arrested four proclaimed offenders involved in a triple murder case.
Reports said that Nausher, his father Hamid and uncle Mahmand of Chak 56/GB were returning after appearing in a court by motorcycles on March 17, 2006. On Noorshah-Faisalabad Road, POs Noor Ahmed, Zahoor, Arshad and Asghar Ali riding in a car intercepted them near Chak 88/6-R (Ratti Tibbi) and shot them dead.
Farid Town police have registered a case and are investigating.
LOOTED: Bandits looted cash and valuables worth Rs280,000 in four different strikes here on Sunday.
Trader Mazhar Adnan of Multan was going to Lahore by his car (LH-5786) when robbers riding in a jeep intercepted him near View Hotel on GT Road. Armed bandits deprived the trader of Rs52,000 in cash and ornaments worth Rs94,000 and disappeared.
Two robbers deprived Ataullah of his motorcycle.
On Sahiwal-Pakpattan Road, two robbers relieved Muhammad Asif of his motorcycle (LZD-3919).
Six robbers stopped Muhammad Jahangir, Mansab, Lashkar and Afzal on the bank of river Ravi in Mauza Shahamand, thrashed them severely, snatched Rs4,000 from them and disappeared.
