HYDERABAD, June 11: The publication committee of the Sindhi Adabi Board has expressed dissatisfaction over the standard of the Mehran magazine and other publications of the board.

At a meeting held here on Saturday, members of the committee discussed the situation arising out of the removal of noted poet Imdad Hussaini from the post of the chief editor of the magazine.

Committee chairman Agha Saleem presided over the meeting.

The meeting recommended that an editorial board comprising prominent writers should be formed to improve the quality and contents of three publications of the board.

It directed the people concerned to prepare a list of names for the editorial board for approval of the chairperson.

Endorsing the decision of the chairperson of the board for reprinting Sindh’s map on the logo of Mehran, the meeting called upon management of the board to prepare a better design of the logo and get it approved from the board of governors.

It directed the management to tender an apology on publication of a critical article against renowned Sindhi poet Shaikh Ayaz.

In order to improve the standard of women magazine “Sartiyoon”, the publication committee recommended that the office of the journal should be shifted from Jamshoro to Hyderabad.

The meeting urged the Sindhi press to adopt a positive attitude towards those institutions which were serving the cause of education and literature.

It also urged employees of the board not to take any administrative matter of the board to the press as a forum already existed to resolve the administrative issues.

SAB chairman Inam Shaikh, Imdad Hussaini, Shoukat Shoro, Qazi Shoukat Qureshi and Mansoor Qadir Junejo were present on the occasion.
