ISLAMABAD, June 9: Two brothers were found dead in mysterious circumstances here on Friday, police said. Ghulam Shabir, 25 and Mohammad Nadeem, 15 were the residents of Toba Tek Singh.

Shahzad Town police shifted the bodies to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) for autopsy. According to police, no marks of injuries were found on the bodies.

Samples of brain, lungs, liver, spleen, heart and kidneys have been sent to the chemical examiner, Lahore to ascertain the actual cause of death.

The bodies were handed over to the family member of the deceased after the autopsy. Police quoted family members of deceased as saying that they had no enmity with anyone.

Police said Shabir and Nadeem, motor mechanics, were working at Super Market, and living in a rented room near Zia Masjid near Islamabad Highway.

Preliminary investigation suggested that they had come to room at around 11:00 pm after purchasing eggs and Pepsi from a shop located in the area for dinner. They prepared curry of eggs and potatoes and took it with the soft drink and went to bed, as they had to their native city on Friday morning. However, they died during sleep at night.

Police took some samples of the curry and soft drink. The samples will be sent to the chemical examiner Lahore for detection of poison. Police ruled out the possibility of robbery as nothing was found missing from the room.

Police also ruled out the presence of a third person in the room.
